When we began throwing parties ten years ago as “Curio,” which is still our flagship event, it was because we were frustrated with the existing options. There was not enough vetting, rules were not enforced, leadership was not reliable, and the physical space was cramped and poorly supplied. But over the years, with the launch of Hit Me Up and the effort to bring our own space to life, it’s become something more.

While we love bringing parties and consent-forward culture to life, we also believe that together we can build something that provides value bigger than an occasional fun night or class. What started out ten years ago as a fun way to improve the NYC kink party scene has become a real and ever-evolving community of friends. It took a huge step forward almost two years ago, when an army of over a hundred volunteers showed up to help is renovate our new space. We're proud to be part of a movement building new relationship and community structures to provide support in a challenging modern age.

Unfortunately, as the saying goes, The Rent Is Too Damn High. Running Hit Me Up is expensive, from the massive rent for this amazing space, to the supplies, to the renovations, to the incredible staff that handles events, volunteers, membership, rentals, social media, marketing, and an endless stream of emails featuring mostly reasonable requests and occasional off-the-wall nonsense—it’s simply expensive for this thing to exist.

While we are very active and the venue is often busy, the reality is that even with our staff being paid far below market rates, we are breaking even on good months and taking a loss on the tougher ones. The initial investment in the space and covering these shortfalls has come directly from founders' personal funds.

So, we are here asking for your support by joining our Patreon as a monthly member. But we are also here to offer you MORE. We are not gatekeeping our parties, events, or discord channel behind paid membership, instead we are offering special new benefits to reward your support. We will be offering more opportunities to build bonds, make friends, find partners, and live our best and most ridiculous lives.
